1 in 6 adults in the UK are affected by hearing loss. Hearing loss can happen to anyone, of any age. Causes can be temporary problems; such as a cold, ear infection or build up of ear wax; or more permanent causes; such as age-related hearing loss and noise exposure.

Hearing loss can lead to withdrawal from social situations, emotional distress, and depression. Research shows that it can increase the risk of loneliness and dementia.

Despite this, studies show that people wait on average 10 years before seeking help; affecting their relationships, limiting their choices and restricting their lives.

We can help by carrying out a full assessment of the physical health of your ears, and what is causing your hearing complaint. We will then recommend treatment and management options that address your individual needs and circumstances. We can also provide preventative measures, such as ear protection, to reduce your risk of hearing loss in the future. Sometimes, referral to another healthcare or medical professional may be necessary and we can facilitate this for you if appropriate.
